Disney’s Twelfth Princess – Frozen

Merida has just joined the Disney Princess Line Up as the eleventh princess and  there is to be yet another princess joining next year, as Princess Anna from upcoming movie Frozen, based on the classic tale of The Snow Queen.  Anna, along with a ‘daring mountain man’ sets off on a journey to rid the kingdom of eternal winter by finding the Snow Queen. She is to be voiced by Kristen Bell and Frozen will be released on November 27th 2013!

Here are some newly released images, what do you guys think?

  1. FROZEN should take place in Russia to add diversity! The castle could be styled to look similar to the Kremlin. Plus, this princess could even be the first Russian, Jewish princess. Instead of Anna (due to Ariel and Aurora also beginning with the letter A), perhaps Esther would make her name more memorable. What do you think? Thank you and many wishes come true your way.

      • Me too but if they had to change it for whatever reason, Esther would be suitable and it is unlike other princessy names. I hope Disney reads these comments. Kristen Bell is scheduled to play her as she has a good voice but does not have the “Disney princess voice.” Amy Grant would portray the princess role better.

      • That’s right! This story takes place in the Scandinavian country of Norway. Bell and Menzel will perform their characters well. Here are other possible names for the princess.
        1. Gerda
        2. Emma
        3. Olga
        4. Ingrid

As for Kristoff, that might be difficult for children to get the hang of in saying. Kai or Jens could be better for the market.

      • Ingrid! That would be wonderful. The only people I meet who allso are called Ingrid are old ladies

      • I really hope Anna’s name is changed. I mean, I like the name Anna, but it just doesn’t strike me as a Disney Princess name. There’s already a princess named Tiana, and to me it seems like Anna could potentially be a nickname for Tiana. I just think that there could have been some more imagination with the selection, instead of just dropping the first syllable of an already existing name of a princess. Ingrid and Esther are very unique names, and I think they’d better suit the character. But what ever happened to Gerda?

      • We should push Disney Animation Studios to change her name due to it sounding too similar with so many A names and Tiana. The look for Merida went through and this should too. It might only take one to make a difference.

    • Uuuuhhhhh… maybe Denmark or Finland would be more appropirate than Russia, since Andersen was Danish. And well, it’s not like Russia is the only country in the world that has snow and cold and furs.

  14. Are these really new images? They’re all watermarked with the Disney Feature Animation Logo, which it hasn’t been for years.. (like.. 8?), plus they all say Snow Queen.. Unless they’re just using stuff from Gabriel’s pitch? Will we see any of the Brizzi Brothers art? Maybe in the forthcoming Art of Book? hmm.
