New Concept Art for Disney’s FROZEN

Geek Tyrant has uncovered new concept art for Frozen, Disney’s upcoming take on Han Christian Andersen’s ‘The Snow Queen’ starring Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel!

In Frozen, a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna (voice of Bell) must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen (voice of Menzel) and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

Frozen will be a CG animated film scheduled to be released on November 27, 2013.

  • It’s the second Hans Christian Andersen adaptation, the first being The Little Mermaid.
  • The ‘daring mountain man’ is named Kristoff.
  • There is to be ‘Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn’…
  • It will be animated using computer generated imagery (CGI)
  • Broadway songwriters Robert Lopez  and Kristian Anderson-Lopez, who wrote songs for Winnie the Pooh, are going to be writing the songs for the film.
  • Indina Menzel (who won a Tony award as Elphaba from Broadway’s Wicked!) is to voice Elsa, The Snow Queen.
  • It’ll be directed by Chris Tuck, who directed Tarzan and Surf’s Up, and will be produced by Peter Del Vecho who directed Winnie the Pooh and The Princess and the Frog.

Note: As the project has been dropped a few times and brought back, none of the concepts are guaranteed to make it into the final film unless confirmed!

Disney’s Twelfth Princess – Frozen

Merida has just joined the Disney Princess Line Up as the eleventh princess and  there is to be yet another princess joining next year, as Princess Anna from upcoming movie Frozen, based on the classic tale of The Snow Queen.  Anna, along with a ‘daring mountain man’ sets off on a journey to rid the kingdom of eternal winter by finding the Snow Queen. She is to be voiced by Kristen Bell and Frozen will be released on November 27th 2013!
